Historic Ski World Championships 2025 in Trondheim

The initiative Equal Opportunities played a central role during Ski World Championships 2025 in Trondheim by promoting gender equality in sports. Through various activities and celebrations, they highlighted equal rights for women and men, both on and off the sports arena. A major milestone in the championship was Norway's historic World Cup gold medal in women's team jumping, which marked an important step for gender equality in sports.

What is Equal Opportunities?

Our activities during the 2025 World Ski Championships

📅 February 27 We marked this with seminars, TV appearances and a visible role during the medal ceremony, where we handed out 2000 Equal Opportunities hats to the audience!

📅 February 28 We organized the Equal Opportunities conference in collaboration with LO, where we brought together key people to discuss the way forward.

Setting the standard for the future

Through these initiatives, Equal Opportunities ensures that the 2025 Nordic Skiing World Championships will be a championship with real values for gender equality. Together with our partners Thon Hotels and Coop, we have contributed to making equal prize money a fixed standard in all future Nordic Skiing World Championships. This is not just about sport – it is about building a sustainable future where girls and boys have the same opportunities to succeed.

The 2025 World Ski Championships in Trondheim have thus not only been an arena for sporting achievements, but also a platform for lasting change and greater equality in sports. With Norway's historic World Ski Championships gold in women's team jumping, this championship has gone down in history as a milestone for female athletes and equality in sports.
